Following on the last 2 strips, Riley’s getting ready for his blind date. How does he prepare for a date? Whatever it is, you know wacky hijinks are bound to ensue!
I’m not too thrilled with the art this week. The poses look kind of stiff. On the upside, I did try something a little different with the third panel. I essentially had five panels to tell the story properly. But 5 adjacent panels would have been too thin for the art. So, I decided to split the third panel into two sections. I think it works pretty well.
This week, we continue with the blind date setup. Riley’s friend (who I hadn’t named up until this point) informed Riley that he found a date for him! Good news right? Well, we’ll see…Â
On the upside, I’ve finally given Riley’s friend a name! He’s showed up in a bunch of strips lately. I’ve managed to eek by without naming him. But this week, I decree his name to be “Mitch.â€Â Hmm, I like it…I think.
Ah, the old ulterior motives. We’ve all been asked to do something where the reasons given don’t match the real reasons. If you’re lucky, you’ll find out AHEAD of time before you make any agreements!
Welcome to the first post of 2011!! I’m so excited. I’m really looking forward to progressing on the comic strip (both on the story and on the art).  I think it’s going to be a good year.
This week’s strip deals with familiar territory: sometimes things don’t quite work out the way you think they might.
